AMENIDADES / AMENITIES
En las habitaciones tenemos jabón neutro para manos y cuerpo. Tenemos un stock pequeño de cepillos y pastas de dientes, shampoo, kleenex, toallas sanitarias para quien haya olvidado (pedir a Alelí, encargada de habitaciones). Cualquier compra sencilla de farmacia puede hacerse en Amatlán.

USO DE ACEITES EN LOS BAÑOS / USAGE OF OILS IN THE BATHROOMS
Les pedimos que eviten derramar aceites en las superficies (mesetas, regadera, muros de concreto con color) de los baños, así como en las de madera. Nuestro personal les proveerá de lo necesario para que esto no ocurra. Tengan en cuenta que daños a causa de esto, serán deducidos del depósito de seguridad.

Recuerden que están en medio de del campo, van a encontrar ciertos insectos, nada fuera de lo normal en cualquier casa de campo. De cualquier forma, si algún huésped es muy alérgico a los piquetes (de todo tipo), conviene traer consigo repelente de insectos y el antihistamínico o EpiPen adecuado a sus necesidades. En la casa tenemos Avapena.

En Amatlán hay varias casas de abarrotes, nuestra preferida es la de Felipe, frente a la Plaza, 5 min en coche desde la casa. Lo demás es posible comprarlo en Tepoztlán. Recomendamos Abarrotes del Valle, la Casa Azul (Morelos Cuernavaca – Yautepec de Zaragoza 10, Ixcatepec, 62525 Tepoztlán, Mor) o casi enfrente de la misma, una nueva proveedora de vinos Castellana. En Amatlán hay farmacia de cosas sencillas.
** Estos comercios están muy surtidos pero los precios están un 20-30% más altos que en comercios normales de la CDMX.
Groceries and Delicatessen:
In Amatlán there are several grocery houses (similar to convenience stores), our favorite is Felipe’s, in front of the Plaza, 5 min by car from the house. The rest can be bought in Tepoztlán. We recommend Abarrotes del Valle, Casa Azul (Morelos Cuernavaca – Yautepec de Zaragoza 10, Ixcatepec, 62525 Tepoztlán, Mor) or almost in front of it, a new supplier of Castellana wines. 10.b. PIZZAS DEL HORNO
La otra experiencia de cocina interesante es el hacer las pizzas al horno de leña en la cocina tradicional.
Tenemos un cocinero que viene a la casa y prepara las pizzas. Disponible Viernes para la cena y Sábado y Domingo para comida o cena. (Preguntar y programar con Vicky).

QUESADILLAS DE DOÑA ANA: En la esquina de la Plaza Central de Amatlán hay un puesto de quesadillas famoso que se pone de 11 am a 6 pm. Son muy buenas y tienen algunas especialidades vegetarianas que no hemos encontrado en otro sitio en Tepoztlán. Doña Ana ha participado en varios documentales de la región. Para el mejor sabor, comerlas in situ (aunque la esquina es francamente fea).
QUESADILLAS DE DOÑA ANA: On the corner of the Central Plaza in Amatlán there is a famous quesadilla stand that is open from 11 am to 6 pm. CAFÉ Y RESTAURANTE KUA AMATLAN: En la otra esquina de la Plaza, hay un nuevo café, propiedad de un vecino alemán (Lütz), que abre de jueves a domingo hasta las 10 pm, tiene platos como: quiche, lasagna, tartas, falafel, tarta de carne, sopas, ocasionalmente salchicha alemana, cervezas artesanales, pulque, kombucha, además de tartas dulces (strüdel, brownie), con un enfoque en productos locales y alimentos saludables. Ampliamente recomendado, pueden llevarse la comida a la casa. No acepta tarjetas.

Como en el resto del mundo donde la problemática es de escasez de agua, Amatlán no es la excepción. Hemos adoptado varias estrategias para asegurar que el agua sea usada racionalmente y con ello contribuyamos a mantener a la población de esta región en mejores condiciones. Les pedimos lo siguiente:
1. El uso de las tinas en la época de sequía no será posible.
2. Procurar tomar duchas cortas.
3. Avisarnos en el evento de alguna fuga o mal función de las instalaciones.
As in the rest of the world, water rational use is a must. Amatlán is no exception. We have adopted several strategies to ensure that water is used rationally and thereby contribute to keeping the population of this region in better conditions. Prácticamente toda la casa tiene cobertura de wifi, excepto el comedor y la cocina. Es rápida y estable para trabajar en zoom, a excepción de ciertos lapsos con clima desfavorable. También puede apagarse a elección si es necesario optimizar la bajada de datos en algún sitio. Tienen que ingresar la clave Amatlan32 para ingresar a cada red.
No hay cobertura de señal 3G o 4G en la casa o el terreno para Telmex, habría que salir a la parte de arriba del pueblo para captar. AT&T tiene cobertura en algunos lugares de la casa.
En la estancia hay surround system. Si quieren tener más cobertura, sugerimos traer bocinas portátiles.
Practically the entire house has Wi-Fi coverage, except for the dining room and kitchen. It is fast and stable to work in zoom, with the exception of certain lapses with unfavorable weather. 13. PASEOS EN BICICLETA / BIKES
Contamos con 3 bicicletas (rodada 26, 27 y 29) de bicicletas de montaña. Hay paseos muy agradables para gente sin mayor preparación.

13.A CAMINATAS / HIKES
Hay muchas caminatas de distinta longitud y dificultad por los alrededores. Se sugiere llevarse a alguien de guía (puede haber una persona de la casa) o contratar a alguno de los guías locales (costo que ellos dan).
There are many walks of different length and difficulty in the surroundings. It is suggested to take someone as a guide (there may be a person from the house) or to hire one of the local guides (cost they give).
Recomendamos llevar zapatos y ropa adecuados para las caminatas. En la casa podemos prestarles botas de plástico (necesitan llevar calcetines gruesos) y bastones. Es importante ser prudentes en cuanto a la habilidad de cada uno y el clima, especialmente cuando es lluvioso y se llevan niños, pues los caminos se vuelven resbalosos. Lo mismo va para los paseos en caballo. Aunque podemos recomendar los paseos, no podemos hacernos responsables de los riesgos corridos por los huéspedes a su voluntad. Definitivamente no recomendamos aventurarse solos en caminatas largas o en sitios que no conozcan.
We recommend wearing appropriate shoes and clothing for hiking. At home we can lend them plastic boots (you’d need to wear thick socks) and walking sticks. It is important to be sensible about each person’s ability and the weather, especially when rainy and if you take children, as roads get slippery. The same goes for horseback riding. Although we can recommend tours, we cannot be held responsible for risks run by guests at their will. We definitely do not recommend venturing alone on long hikes or in unfamiliar places.
13.B. TEMAZCALES / TRADICIONAL CEREMONIAL STEAM BATHS
Son los baños de vapor prehispánicos tradicionales de la región. Tenemos varios sitios donde pueden ir, cercanos. Aunque sabemos cómo operan y conocemos a quienes lo hacen es de una manera controlada, no podemos garantizar que estén totalmente libres de riesgo. Lo dejamos a su consideración. Preguntar a Elías por recomendaciones.
They are the traditional pre-Hispanic steam baths of the region. We have several places where they can go, close by. Although we know how they operate and we know who they operate in a controlled manner, we cannot guarantee that they are completely risk free. We leave it to your consideration. 13.C. MASAJES / MASSAGES

En el excepcional caso de un corte de energía eléctrica por lluvias muy fuertes, tenemos una Planta de Emergencia que entra en funciones, dejando algunas áreas sin cobertura (por ejemplo, algunas lámparas de los baños) por el breve plazo mientras regresa la energía normal. Tenemos para este caso, lámparas LED y velas en varias zonas.

Vicky llevará la cuenta de turnos extras, servicios de la casa, madera para fogatas, lavandería extra. Cada semana se elaborará un estado de cuenta y se acordará cómo hacer los pagos.
Vicky will keep track of extra shifts, house services, wood for campfires, extra laundry. A weekly statement will be elaborated, and we will discuss the best way to pay for that.
PROPINAS / TIPS:
Nuestro personal se lo agradece si es el caso, y les pedimos que idealmente se haga por separado o en todo caso, en sobre cerrado con nombre del destinatario o, en si caso, de instrucciones (repartir entre todos a partes iguales, por ejemplo).
Our staff will be very pleased if tip them, if you consider it; we would ask you to put it in a sealed envelope with instructions as to how to distribute it (in even parts among everyone, for example).
